USS Fansahw Bay was flagship of the famous "Taffy 3" task force which, despite being terribly out-matched, fought and forced the retreat of the main body of the Japanese fleet at the Battle off Samar. She is modeled in 1/350 scale as she appeared at about 0745, launching the last of her aircraft and just before she took her first hit, on the morning of 25 October, 1944. The model exhibits detail and accuracy never before seen in an escort carrier model of this scale.

The model is representative of any of the 50 Casablanca class escort carriers, which were all nearly the same, built during World War 2. The model is 18 inches in length and comes mounted on a fine wood base covered with a durable acrylic case.

The case measures 20" long, 5.5" wide and 9.5" high (including base), for a nice fit on almost any shelf.
